
Greenacres
Greenacres, Florida, is a city located in Palm Beach County, approximately five miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Founded in 1923 by Lawrence Carter Swain, it was established to provide a community for the middle class during a period when coastal resort areas were primarily catering to the wealthy. As of July 2023, Greenacres has an estimated population of 44,103 residents, making it the eighth largest of the 39 municipalities in the county. The city spans approximately six square miles and is known for its commitment to promoting diversity in community life, offering various programs, classes, community events, and organized athletic leagues through its Community and Recreation Services Department. Greenacres provides a suburban atmosphere with convenient access to the cultural and recreational amenities of the greater Palm Beach area.
